Define and apply an n order polynomial transformation to ArcView shape files.
- Have data of unknown origin that does not quite match the rest of your data? You can fit it to your current data with nOrderTransform.
- Scale, shift, rotate and/or warp one data set to fit another data set by specifying control points.
- Choose the order of the polynomial that best matches the transformation you need.
- Define a polynomial transformation by specifying matching control points in point shape files.
- A least squares fit is utilized to minimize the distance difference at the control points.
- Use more than the required control points, thus minimizing the damage of incorrectly specified points.
- Examine the residual error for each point to assist in correcting control points.
- The transformation, once accepted by the user, is applied to any shape file.
