A user friendly wizard to compute,
analyze and remove a trend from a Z field in a standalone table or a POINT
feature class/ shapefile for ArcMap in ArcGIS.
- The interpolation method used is the global polynomial of power 1.
- The X,Y and Z fields can be selected from existing fields or generated from
the [SHAPE] field in the case of a feature class (z field can be generated
from [SHAPE] only in 3D aware feature classes like PointZM).
- The input dataset remains unchanged while 3 different outputs can be
generated.
- The first output, a dbf table, is always produced and contains the results
of the trend analysis in the form of 2 fields called z_trend and z_res where
z_trend will contain the value of z as estimated by the trend plan and z_res
the differences between the original value and z_trend (residuals after
trend removal).
- The second output is a 3D (z aware) PointZM shapefile where the z value
derives from z_res.
- The third output is the raster of the trend. To compute the raster output
the Trend method of the IInterpolationOp interface from Spatial Analyst
Shared Library is used thus this output requires Spatial Analyst Licence.
- The plan equation is displayed at the end on the form.
