Import and do analysis, filtering and reporting on ARGOS satellite data.
ARGOS-Tools is designed for Argos Service users
who have requested Argos Location Service Plus (Auxiliary Location Processing in North America). This service means that the user will receive locations calculated from two or three messages. This service was developed to increase the number of locations for transmitters sending weak signals, or at irregular times, or in difficult environments such as steep-sided valleys, forests or mountains. Typical
applications include scientists who track animals using miniaturized transmitters, often in remote locations.
The module effortlessly brings Argos data into GIS for subsequent analysis.

These files are distributed either by Argos Standard Service, or Auxiliary Location Processing in North America, or their derivatives.

What Others Thought
Also ment to add I really liked the video tutorials on how to import data - most excellent and very helpful to a technophobe like me - -thank you again for a most excellent product!
Jacinda Amey The software Argos tools is fantastic for filtering the argos data and certainly saves alot of time and pain doing it a more manual way - thank you for the free trial version which was ample for the few tracks I am analysing and as a student I could not afford the full version for this one off application. I did have some trouble getting the extention to run but that was because it was on a University machine and the administrator needed to change some of the server settings - so nothing to do with the software itself. The instuctions online are also very clear and easy to follow although possibly a few areas lost in translation? On the main menu page under download 7 day trial version is written "Preliminary registration is true." Not sure what that means?
Spatial online was easy to find and google, download and navigate around now have in my favourites. Thank you agan for a most helpful site. Jacinda Amey
