Manage metadata in ArcView.
Version 6.0 for ArcView - February 2006
With MMS Metadata you can:
- view and edit metadata on active themes through a dialog with 5 tab-pages: General Information, Creation History, Table Metadata, Quality Information, Environment Metadata
- make txt, html and xml reports of all metadata and define the contents of the reports dynamically
- make metadata categories based on the theme keyword item, a function that creates a whole new type of TOC: MMS TOC (adding structure to your themes!)
- query the metadata that is saved in the MMS metadata-database with the MMS querybuilder
- remove the saved metadata from MMS metadata database with the same MMS querybuilder
- use domainvalues to speed up the creation of metadata and to prevent mistakes
- import metadata textreports to the dialogs when two or more themes have partially the same metadata contents
- save metadata in 1 or more databases (located in the MMS homedirectory) and eventually join 2 or more databases together
- as MMS works on active themes, you can activate themes by choosing them out of a list (menu-item)
- edits on the database are written to a logfile that can be used later
- change settings, like MMS homedirectory, report contents, domain fields and values, required metadata fields, etc
- in the ArcView TOC, MMS can indicate if a theme has metadata by adding "+ Metadata!" to the themename
- lots of small extras, like thumbnails in html reports, the ODB (read/write) function, legend metadata, metadata editor info, relocating replaced datasets, etc
MMS is supported with a english Help file, a readme.pdf and a file "New in MMS Metadata version 6.pdf" containing the new and changed functions (between 6.0 and 4.9).
