Automatically write an ID in new features just after their creation.
- AutoID is simple and functional, it replaces a routine but indispensable task, avoiding mistakes and cutting some seconds each time a new feature is created.
- The ID is sequential and is written on a users' defined numeric field, starting with next field value or a user's defined value.
- It's easy to use!
- After loading the AutoID extension, a View's GUI will have an extra button which will be enabled if there is a shapefile's theme in edit mode.
- You need to be in edit mode for a shapefile before the button is enabled.
- Pressing this button will raise a small dialog and AutoID will be ready to work.
- Each time a feature is added, it is given the next Id value.
- Users may set ID field as well Start value.
- Each time a ID field is selected, the maximum existing ID is calculated and the Start value will be set to maximum plus one.
